Grant Hill: I’ll take my burgers stuffed
Ed Bedford 11:44 p.m., June 19
The Angels Flight Railway in Los Angeles is the shortest railway line in the United States. It climbs 298 feet up a steep slope between Hill Street and the Panama Plaza in downtown Los Angeles. It was originally built in 1901 by Colonel J.W. Eddy and is one of the few funicular railways in the United States. A funicular design involves two counterbalanced train cars attached by a cable on a pulley system, traveling on parallel tracks. The weight of one car moving downward pulls the second car upward along the incline.
