This is the sign in front of Mount Vernon School in Lemon Grove.
From a distance it looks deceptively simple.
Up close, however, it comes alive with mosaic artistry.

This fantastic mosaic was created by Ms. Terri Nelson, English Teacher of the Third Grade Dual Immersion Class and a select group of students. The individual pieces were donations from the entire student body. We are standing on the Moon looking at the Sun We see rays of beautiful colors and a student reading under a lemon tree. It is surrounded by tiles which were decorated by students.
That is just plain BEAUTY!
