There's not only that restaurant that is vacant, but a companion restaurant across the alley that was named Casa di Baffi. Both belong to George Pernicano who owned and operated them for many years, until he ran them into the ground with his arrogant attitude toward customers. When he was forced to close both locations a couple decades ago, he refused to put them on the market or to lease them to others. And so, in the middle of a busy and prosperous business district they sit, unoccupied and crumbling waiting for what? George can't or won't say. He just sits home and lets them detract from the neighborhood. Sad, sad story.
