This tiny Taco Bell model sits in the garden next to the drive-thru at the actual Taco Bell restaurant on College and University. It is apparently an homage to the first Taco Bell that was ever built in San Diego, and it was on this actual site. The current building is very modern looking. I kept thinking that Barbie and Ken would love this old school Taco Bell. It's just their size.

Forty-plus years ago I patronized that very Taco Bell, buying their bean burritos for either 35 or 40 cents. No dining room, of course, but they had been an early adopter of the drive-thru concept. In those earliest days of TB, they had tacos for 19 cents, and nothing sold for much more than 50 or 60 cents.
