San Diego Fringe: Scenes From Mars One: Now With 68% Less Gravity! and Los Dorados (The Golden Ones)
David Dixon 10:30 a.m., July 28
Pulled a tribute solo for my friend J.R. on this striking granite crag above Horseshoe Meadow, not far from Lone Pine, CA. A tribute solo is where one climbs with nothing but shoes, chalkbag, fingertips, and brain---it is a means of showing the ultimate respect by laying everything on the line for a good friend who has passed away. My memorable and beautiful solo went up the left side of this imposing face... the view was insane, and the rock good as gold. "REST IN PEACE, J.R.---GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!!I'LL BE JOINING YOU, JIMMY, AND GRAEME SOON ENOUGH, I RECKON."
