Anyone else who isn't from OB still reading this site?
If so, anyone else in Sherman Heights and/or East Village just a wee bit pissed off that a contractor is running a large jackhammer and power saws at 2:30 in the morning? Not saying it wouldn't happen in La Jolla, except that it wouldn't happen in La Jolla.

So, has anyone else had any recent run-ins with the Cat Lady? You guys probably know her... She walks around Sherman in the middle of the night dumping cat food for the ferals. It's become a real problem down here on 19th Street (where she lives) because we have a few properties that have been vacant and she's enabling the cats to turn them into their estate. Fleas abound, feces collect. But she's been doing this for years.
Anyway, a couple neighbors and I tried reasoning with her, no dice. Recently I called police non-emergency and the responding officer couldn't do much, though he could tell she's NUTS. He gave me an incident number. If any of you guys have any trouble with her, let me know...
As for those properties, some other neighbors and I got in touch with the city and the owner appears to be cleaning them up. So watch out for newly displaced feral cats.
That said, feral cats are still better than feral cat ladies (or feral hippies squatting at 21st and G, for that matter).

Walking up 22nd St. from Commercial, I was struck by the colors of homes. Not sure it will show up as well in this photo.
But then even more impressive were these three Victorians, esp. the first one, across from Sherman Elementary.
