It seems San Diegans have vision problems...let me explain. On the south bound 101 there are no right turns onto El Portal or North Ct (next to Pannikin) M-F from 6am-9am where there is a large street sign in front of the Econo Lodge hotel. Regardless, morning traffic routinely ignores this sign and makes right turns into the neighborhood at high speeds to avoid the stop sign by Juanita's. Can we get a bigger sign or more cops sitting there in the mornings? When the southbound 5 backs up, as it does almost everyday, these fools think they will do better getting off the 5 and onto the coast hwy. ANy ideas? Perhaps a group of citizens taking pictures of the violators?

Well, the new bike lanes are in on the 101 and I cant say enough bad things about them. I dont want to be overly negative, but in conversations with my neighbors, none of us can figure out why the city did this. It seems to only benefit the weekend riders, it makes it very dangerous to drive north and south between la costa ave and encinitas blvd, and it seems to create worse traffic and more pollution in the summer days when the roads are busy. Seems to be a very short sighted venture that completely ignores the already problematic road with no parking on the east side. A better solution would have been to widen the bike lanes on the east side of the street and put a dedicated bike lane into the west side. And I bike to work to top it off, and this still makes no sense...neptune or vulcan can be used by bikers much easier.

San Dieguito High School Fallen Alumni Calling all Veterans and San Dieguito High School alumni - Please join us this Saturday, May 25th, for a very moving memorial remembrance for former San Dieguito alumni that gave all to our country in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. 19 former students names will be read and remembered. 11:00 a.m. @ the Fallen Veterans monument in front of the school.
