Anyone who has been following the proposed water park in Kit Carson should check out the city's official response to the issue. I don't see a date on the posting, but it would have been good to see leading up to the public meeting. I think there are enough opposed to the idea, that it won't ever go through. I'm actually shocked it was considered. We need open space like Kit Carson way more than another water park.

My name is Edward.I broke the World's record for walking. For four and half years, Iwalked averaging 10 miles a day or more. I left my ex-wife almost 6 years ago and have been walking ever since. I still am.Anyhow, the story I have is this;Everyday,I walk about the same trail and everyday there's a new trail of rocks.I don't walk as much as I was, But it sure hurts when you step on a rock in a worn-out pair of Vans. I've seen women fall over their babies in their baby carriages because the wheels on the carriage hit a rock.I've seen older women do the same. This is a true neighborhood story and I wish I had pictures. It sure would be nice to win $100.00 . still kickin rocks, Edward

My husband and I had some tools stolen out of our truck cabin early morning 4/8/13. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. They were construction tools. A large heavy duty tool bag with tons of misc. hand tools, a full tool belt black canvas with over the shoulder straps, makita drill/driver set and a cobra ram set orange with an orange carrier case.
thanks!

San Pasqual Academy Foster Youth Receive Book Donations from the Community
San Pasqual Academy, a residential high school for foster youth in Escondido, were the recipients of Barnes & Noble’s annual holiday book drive for the second year in a row. During the holidays, Barnes & Noble customers were encouraged to donate books and other products from a student-created “wish list”. Immediately after the holidays, SPA’s foster youth received thousands of books, CDs, and DVDs, donated by the customers of Barnes &Noble in Escondido.
City National Bank teamed up with Barnes & Noble in their philanthropy by matching the total cost of donations from the community. The money was used towards enriching the school’s library and fulfilling students’ “wish lists”.
San Pasqual Academy has a long-standing relationship with Barnes & Noble of Escondido. The UROK Book Club works with Community Relations Managers to select appropriate and engaging books for students to foster a lifelong love of reading. Students who participate in the UROK Book Club are rewarded for their participation with books, Barnes & Noble gift cards, and pizza parties.

Zjhunk Metal Art of Escondido create sculptures so awesome it gets stolen! One of their sculptures, a 7 foot tall pink and purple bird sculpture in their front yard mysteriously disappeared. "Edward the Dino Bird" has great sentimental value. He was created just shortly after the artist, Paul Wilton's, brother Ed passed away. The artists would like the sculpture to be returned. Contact the San Marcos Sheriff at 760-510-5200 and reference case # E583037.
