According to the State Bar of California, David Taylor Kaye of Escondido has been suspended from the practice of law for two years and placed on three years of probation.

According to the Bar's review department, Kaye admitted "that on eight occasions during March and April 2012, he surreptitiously photographed women in various states of undress at a tanning salon." The salon manager discovered his activity and reported it to police. They set up a sting. A female police officer, wearing a bikini, was placed in a tanning room adjacent to Kaye's.

"Kaye raised himself over the partition and used his cell phone to secretly photograph the female officer," says the Bar. Another police officer was on a stepladder in a nearby tanning room, and observed the proceedings. Kaye was arrested when he left, and, asked if he had any possessions, said he did not. "The officer then reached into the pocket of Kaye's pants and removed his cell phone, which had a permanent camera lens attached to it." Kaye subsequently pleaded guilty to four misdemeanors.

Daniel G. Koryn of San Diego rear-ended a vehicle May 10, 2013, causing property damages to two vehicles while driving with a blood alcohol level of .29 percent, according to Bar records. After the accident, he told police that he had not been drinking. He had a prior conviction. He pleaded guilty to driving while having a measurable blood alcohol level of .08 or more. He got a brief time in custody, 224 hours of volunteer work, and a fine. The Bar gave him a public reproval.

In November of 2014, the Bar placed Jerry Lane Heffner of San Diego on interim suspension following convictions for possession of a controlled substance and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

Rayehe Mazarei of Oceanside has been suspended from the practice of law for one year. She did not provide required quarterly information to the Office of Probation. She had been disciplined twice before for mishandling immigration cases.
