• Airplane!

The Big Lebowski is near and dear to my heart. It’s great the first time but even better the second, third, and thirty-ninth times. A sign of a good movie is when the characters stick with you — remembering their flaws, ill-advised choices, and rage-fueled rants. I swear I’ve seen the Dude around town but — spoiler alert — it’s not really him. But if I ever did bump into him, I’d buy him a White Russian.

Admit it. You laughed. You laughed a lot at Airplane! In fact, every so often you’ll throw out a famous Airplane! one-liner only to get ten more back. It always puts me in a great mood. It’s goofy. It’s silly. It’s absurd. But, isn’t that what we need sometimes?  Some goofy, silly, absurdity in our lives? Surely you can’t be serious. Well, readers, I am serious…and don’t call me Shirley.

Yeah that's pretty funny, unless you are at the disco meeting new guys in 1980, then they quote that silly surely can't be serious stuff and your name really is Shirley, so you have to say back, "don't call me Shirley". Then we're both goofy.
