July 30 | Beer Dinner: Downtown seafood restaurant, Spike Africas, shows its commitment to local craft beer with monthly pairing dinners. The next event will focus on Mother Earth Brew Co., marrying Sin Tax Peanut Butter Stout with Jamaican jerk prawn skewers, and rocky road mousse with Kismet IPA. Almost seems like they mixed the pairings up, but it might be magic.
1030 Broadway, East Village
August 2, 4 p.m. | San Diego Craft Beer & Cocktail Showcase: People know El Dorado Cocktail Lounge for its laidback, era-gone-by appeal and stiff-yet-thoughtful mixology marvels, but 12 brewers will share the spotlight with six cocktail bars (plus food trucks, artists, and DJs) at this outdoor soiree, where guests can enjoy 10 brew samples and a pair of craft cocktails.
1205 Knoxville Street, Bay Park
August 2, 5 p.m. | 18th Anniversary Celebration: The Crown City’s namesake Coronado Brewing Company is one of the county’s longest-tenured brewing interests. They’re celebrating 18 years in business at their mainland tasting room with $3 pints, food truck fare, and the debut of their 18th Anniversary Ale, a double IPA brewed with Nugget, Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic.
