2014 marks the 45th year for the show, making it the longest continuously run comics and popular-arts convention in the country. With comic books, original art, toys, games, trading cards, clothing, movie memorabilia, anime, films, gaming, parties, lectures, and cosplay.

This new event features Danny Elfman’s film scores brought to life onstage by an orchestra, enhanced by visuals on the big screen with Tim Burton’s original film sketches, drawings, and storyboards. John Mauceri, conductor, with the Sacra/Profana chorus.

The 2012 San Diego County Fair “Best of Division: Sparkling Wine” winners will talk about how these wines are made and demonstrate the most dramatic part of the process: disgorging the sediment from the riddled wine.

In 1909, Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida was commissioned to create a large composition of Columbus departing on his first voyage across the Atlantic. This evening film is shown in conjunction with the museum’s Sorolla and America exhibition.
