Twin brothers Anthony Donald Casias and Leo Ronald Casias Jr. on Friday (January 17) were sentenced to prison for defrauding local sports fans. Customers paid their L&T Sports Events Inc. money for travel, lodging, transportation, and game tickets for sporting events, such as a Chargers away game.

But according to evidence introduced in court, customers may have gotten airline tickets but little else. Over a dozen local Chargers fans paid to see the team play in Chicago, and transportation was about all they got. The twins also made unauthorized credit-card charges on at least four people's credit cards.

Anthony Casias got 36 months in custody and Leo Casias got 33 months.

Scamming is the great American pastime. Thought we knew better.

Don, this is not the first time these two have pulled this scheme...some years back (in the 80's/90's?) they pulled a similar scheme on high school students who got stranded in DC. How did they get licenses and all to do all this again?

Wabbitsd: I have heard from several people who got cheated by these guys years ago. I can't tell you why they got along with it as long as they did. Best, Don Bauder
