Wednesday 12
Mark Dresser performs solo at the Conrad Prebys Music Center. (UCSD). Dresser only does this once a year, and last year’s show was off the charts. 7 p.m. $ 15.50 Gilbert Castellanos presents the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Ave.) This week, young tenor saxophonist Nathan Collins is featured, leading a band with Matthew Smith, Chase Prado, Tim McNalley and Castellanos, who will play the first set, (which begins at 7 p.m.) before dashing off to: Gilbert Castellanos Jam Session at 7 Grand (3054 University Ave.) Featuring Joshua White, and Rob Thorsen. Drums TBA. No cover. 9 p.m., musicians bring your instruments.

Thursday 13
Leonard Patton salutes Louis & Ella at 98 Bottles (2400 Kettner Blvd.) That’s Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Joining Patton will be Teagan Taylor, Ed Kornhauser, Justin Grinnell and Duncan Moore. 8 p.m. $18 at the door.

Friday 14
Gilbert & Lorraine Castellanos at the Westgate Hotel (1055 2nd Ave.) The husband and wife perform a special Valentine Day concert. No cover. 8 p.m. ($20 food/drink minimum) Leonard Patton reprises the Louis & Ella tribute, this time at Dizzy’s. Same personnel, 8 p.m., $15 cover.

Saturday 15
Bertram Turetzky & Friends at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Dr.) The bassist celebrates his 81st “Bertday,” with Francesca Savage on viola, Lori Kirkell on cello, Nancy Turetzky on flute, David Savage on bassoon, and Chuck Perrin, narration. 8 p.m. $15 cover.

Gilbert Castellanos salutes Art Blakey at 98 Bottles. Featuring LA drummer Willie Jones III, with Joshua White, Hamilton Price and Danny Janklow. 8 p.m., $20 cover.

Sunday 16
Vocalist Allison Adams Tucker headlines the 6th Annual Brasil Jazz fest at Dizzy’s. Ten musicians, three bands doing three sets, including Choro Sotaque; the Danny Green Trio, and the Allison Adams Tucker Group. The music starts at 6 p.m. $ 20 cover.
