ART AFTER DARK: DAY OF THE DEAD
This international cultural tradition, beginning in the deep roots of Mexico, celebrates the lives of the deceased with food, drink, dancing, and traditions passed down from generation to generation. The evening features music, costumes, interactive art, performances, and more. Ticket price includes art and entertainment, complimentary appetizers, and one drink ticket. $10–$20.

TURISTA LIBRE: DíA DE LOS MUERTOS
Visit Puerta Blanca, Tijuana’s oldest cemetery and the resting place of its unofficial folk saint, Juan Soldado, where an urban-legend historian will be on hand to tell guests Soldado’s controversial tale. Afterward, a little sugar-skull shopping and a 101 on Day of the Dead altars at Mercado Hidalgo, followed by mole pizza at El Taller. Then, a nightcap at one of downtown’s many surreal dives forgotten by time. Cost includes round-trip border transportation, dinner, and a beer at the bar.
