Police and emergency personnel were called to the scene of an accident on Thursday, April 18, at approximately 4:50 p.m., after an elderly woman drove her car over the curb on the north side of University Avenue between Eighth and Ninth avenues.

Her car broke off a parking meter from its base and crushed the passenger side fender and headlight into a large palm tree. It was not clear if the driver was trying to pull in or out of the parking space.

EMTs determined the driver did not require any medical assistance. Police officers on the scene were completing what appeared to be citations.

The oldies are on tight income, as it long been said. (then who knows the truth, for each) Even worse, the same drivers have been getting a worse driving record. (but state needs the $$) This elderly's damage, to one's self only --- is the best that I have read yet. As noone else be involved. Then, if another been involved: how much damage had the impact, via the angle, would this 'elderly' had done?

If this 'elderly' had no need of 'medical assistance' and only attention of 'citations': this 'elderly' must have had a very quick and clean mindset. In what she was doing.
