Burch better but not quite good enough yet

On Saturday afternoon, April 28, 12-year-old Jenna Blevens attended the Fallbrook Flower Show with her 74-year-old grandmother Eva Raines. “It’s a tradition,” said Raines, who has brought her granddaughter to the event for the past five years.
The horticultural display featured beautiful blooms, plants, and vegetables. A pair of magnificent cabbages submitted by D. Ashton, a Fallbrook Garden Club member, won two blue ribbons and admiring glances from show attendees. A list of rules stated that entries were judged on “cultural perfection and condition and grooming and distinction.”

The flower show also had many lovely flowers. Here is a photo of Grandma Eva Raines with her granddaughter Jenna, they are at far right in the picture. Photo is by Bob Weatherston. Submitted by Eva Knott.
