Snow covered East County on Saturday night, February 26. At 8:30 on Sunday morning, there was a light dusting of snow beginning at El Cajon Mountain and Ramona and continuing through the Cuyamaca Mountain range eastward to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

This photo was taken from a private aircraft flying at 4500 feet above sea level, about 2000 feet above the ground; it is a view of a waterfall feeding El Capitan Reservoir. A similar photo was published in Stringers two months ago without the snow. Click here to see it.

I flew up the valley from El Cap to Dudley's on Monday (clouds prevented going that far on Sunday) and there are SIX big waterfalls now draining the snowpack and rain into El Cap!
