VEGETABLE GARDENING THE ORGANIC WAY
Water Conservation Garden horticulturist David Yetz shares how to build a raised bed, organic methods for preparing your soil, what to plant together and when, and how to manage pests and provide nutrients for your plants. After learning the ins and outs, you can buy your own vegetable seedlings on site.
Teams of two will begin at Babycakes in Hillcrest and then make their way around San Diego, solving clues and completing challenges. Teams finish at a to-be-discovered finish line for the award ceremony. Enter just to have fun running around town, and you might win a two-night stay at the Dana on Mission Bay.

The biggest names in sailing — including Russell Coutts, Paul Cayard, James Spithill, Rod Davis, and Terry Hutchinson — will race on San Diego Bay in identical 44-foot sailboats, the RC 44 (created for short-course racing). The event will take place in front of Broadway Pier.
