At 11:38 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2010 you posted the comment regarding the Parking Lot Brainstorms Puzzle. You signed off with the challenge to “Count ‘em.” I in fact did count and came up with 41. I agree with your count because right and out counts as 2 moves (two car lengths, one right and one more out). Unfortunately, you omitted moving car 35 up. Without this 9th move, you cannot correctly make any of the other moves you counted.
There are three kinds of people, those that can count and those that cannot.
If you do the math, 41+1=42.
That makes the correct answer 42. Please give me credit for the correct solution. As I said before, I don’t care if the people with the wrong answer got credit (or a t-shirt). I just think it is only fair for people with the correct answer to get credit also.
