I would like to point out that this:

Kyle Sleeth, Scripps Ranch, 3. Missionaries go to places where...

should say:

"Missionaries go to places where people don't wear much clothing"

NOTE TO SD READER: If you're going to edit something: It's one thing to remove the entire comment to censor it. Which sucks, but it's your paper and you can do what you want. But don't print half of it which completely changes the meaning. Now it looks like I'm some kind of hardcore religious nut. Also, why censor it? Is it offensive in someway? It's based on Australian philosopher's observation:

“It is long accepted by the missionaries that morality is inversely proportional to the amount of clothing people wore”

Dear puzzle helper,

This is regarding my submitted solution to the July 16, 2009 puzzle (the 'G' puzzle).

I e-mailed my submission the Sunday night before the deadline, as I normally do, and it satisfied the restrictions (e.g., less than one megabyte). I didn't receive any mail rejection or misdelivery messages, so my assumption is that the message was delivered properly.

I also carefully checked my answers against the solution published in the July 23rd issue, and everything looked correct.

However, my name wasn't published among the list of correct entries, so I'm left wondering what happened. After diligently working on half a year's worth of puzzles, it's disappointing if I've fallen off the list of top solvers because of some glitch beyond my control.

If there was some problem with my submission that I've overlooked, or if you really didn't receive my e-mail entry for some reason, I'd really appreciate finding out what the problem was. On the other hand, if this was an editorial oversight then I'd like that corrected so I can rejoin the ranks of those who have sent in correct entries so far for all of this year's puzzles.

Sincerely,

Gary Dismukes

P.S. I inquired about this last week both by sending e-mail and sending a letter to the editor, but never received any reply, so I'm posting here in hopes of getting some kind of answer. Thanks!

P.P.S. By the way, based on the personal puzzle messages this week, it looks like at least one other submitter is in the same boat. E.T. Cage also didn't get listed for the 'G' puzzle on July 16th, and from E.T.'s message it sounds like something similar occurred.
