"It turns out [my father has] been living in San Diego, and he even knows about the band," says Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor. He says his mother never told him who his father was. "My wife got involved, though. She confronted my mom and then she brought in a private detective."

Father and son recently spoke on the phone for the first time while Slipknot was touring South America.

"It was really emotional; we were both crying all over the place." Taylor wrote about his dad on "Eyeless," from the band's first album: "I am my father's son, cuz he's a phantom, I'm a mystery and that leaves me nothing!"
