The guys at Ultramar will fill your tank quickly for about $10 and check to see if the brass male is "tweaked." If it is, they'll explain that someone stripped it and your tank has a leak -- that's why your tank-use to fill-up ratio is totally askew. If you've got a leak, they'll let you trade in the flawed one for a new one for $25.
