True aficionados of exotic nightlife head to San Diego Min Sok Chon, a self-described "Korean folk village" that is a cavernous bar/restaurant with thatch-roofed booths and a karaoke room. Dreadlocked Korean youth and lusty Korean businessmen down beer and soju, a powerful yam-based vodka-type beverage. They devour garlicky traditional Korean bar-food. Expansive and passionate, Koreans are the Italians of Asia. This is where they cut loose and have a good time.
