Three Men and a Baby
A remake, after an indecent delay of about a year, of Coline Serreau's 3 Men and a Cradle. A boon, maybe, for those to whom the presence of subtitles (and absence of the likes of Tom Selleck, Ted Danson, and Steve Guttenberg) was a barrier to enjoying, or even seeing, the original. But since there were plenty of other barriers to enjoying that one, what's the point? Selleck has the nicest moment: reading to the baby a Sports Illustrated account of a championship prizefight as a bedtime story — and in a voice better suited to Mother Goose.
