In Tim Firth's comedy, the members of Yorkshire's Women's Institute want to raise money to commemorate a beloved man. But how? Another calendar like last year's (which offered "exciting views of local churches")? Nope. Six of them, ages 45 to 65, decide to pose nude -- well, okay, only just a bit, like a Partial-Monty. As the idea takes hold, they face all the doubts and nay-sayers; after the photo shoot, they confront the perils of international fame. The play starts slowly. So did the Sullivan Players on opening night. Everything jelled in the shoot, so much that it was hard to tell if the actors, about to disrobe, were more nervous than their characters. A truly hilarious scene. Two behind the scenes efforts merit special mention: Sheila Rosen created enough costumes for about ten fashion shows, the colors and styles of each defining character to a t. This production is D.J. Sullivan's last show as a director. The winner of a Craig Noel Lifetime Achievement Award is retiring after 60 years in the theater. Worth a try.
