Mo `ololo Performing Art's fine production almost glosses over the flaws in Laura Jacqmin's quirky script. Molly, a docent at Wisconsin Concrete Park, recalls less and less. She has Alzheimers. The playwright paints the portrait of a mind slowly leaving its body from the inside. We see as Molly sees. Jacqmin wants the piece to be a 95-minute "comedy about a tragedy." But many times, early on, the text forces the comedy/surrealism. That the subject is so devastating makes the often cute "comedy" irk all the more. The first-rate work of director Robert Barry Fleming, scenic designer David F. Weiner, Joseph Huppert's subtle background score, and especially Linda Libby's excellent portrayal of Molly make, in the end, for a moving production.
Worth a try.
