Sixty Six sailors were killed when an explosion rocked the Navy gunboat USS Bennington at anchor in San Diego Bay the morning of July 21, 1905. But what really happened?
Bennington disaster expert and our old friend Karen Scanlon will discuss her research on the subject and the "Zeal for Conviction" at the January meeting of the OB Historical Society.
The lecture will be in the newly remodeled sanctuary of Water's Edge Faith Community (formerly PL United Methodist Church) at Sunset Cliffs and Saratoga Ave in Ocean Beach.
