Nile Sisters Development Initiative invites the public to Female Genital Cutting: A Conversation in San Diego, a community event that highlights concerns about FGC in the region as well as identifies community-driven approaches that aim to address those concerns. Female Genital Mutilation is an illegal procedure that involves altering or injuring the female genital organs for non-medical reasons, resulting in adverse short-and-long term medical conditions. The event will feature a film screening and panel discussion with survivors and activists, health care professionals, and other FGC subject matter experts.
