The Role of Genetic Ancestry in Understanding Health Disparities
The Institute for Behavioral and Community Health and the San Diego State University/UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center Partnership are proud to announce the first event in their Distinguished Lecture Series: Innovations in Cancer Disparities Research. All events in this series are free and open to the public. Join students, alumni, faculty/staff, and community members as we welcome Dr. Rick Kittles, a world-renowned geneticist from the University of Arizona Cancer Center. Dr. Kittles is wellknown for his research of prostate cancer and health disparities among African Americans and has been at the forefront of the development of ancestry-informative genetic markers, including understanding how genetic ancestry can be used to map genes for common traits and diseases.
