23rd annual Adams Lecture in the Humanities, presented by the Department of Classics and Humanities at SDSU. Up Close and Out of Focus: Life, Death, and the Ethics of Visualizing Human Smuggling Across Mexico. Featuring Dr. Jason De Léon, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Michigan and Director of the Undocumented Migration Project. Dr. De Leon will discuss an ongoing photoethnographic project focused on the violent day-to-day lives of Honduran smugglers who profit by moving Central Americans across Mexico.
