Opening the Outdoors
Today’s climate movement stands on the shoulders of many who came before -- from farmworker justice activists to early environmentalists -- when they advance the fundamental belief that people have a right to live and work in a clean and safe environment. And while 45 percent of San Diego County’s total land area is green space, many low-income, ethnically diverse communities have limited access to parks and open spaces and still disproportionately bear the negative side effects of pollution.
Join The San Diego Foundation, civil rights icon Dolores Huerta, and advocates and organizations across the region to learn how they are Opening the Outdoors and how you can help fulfill the promise of a safe and healthy region for all. RSVP: sdfoundation.org/events or [email protected].
