Krav Maga Self-Defense Class
Four-hour introductory course on beginner principles and techniques of self-defense. Offensive strikes (ie. punching and kicking) and defensive techniques (ie. wrist releases, choke defenses, etc.) will be explored and practiced under stress, as well as an opportunity for discussion on avoidance and awareness following the training. Come prepared to learn, train hard, and most of all have fun. What to bring: -Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in and are willing to sweat in. Shoes are required! -Towel and Water (Please drink plenty of water leading up to the event, as well as, bring some with you) -If you have hand wraps or MMA gloves feel free to bring them however they are not required, but highly recommended.
What we will be covering: Basic fighting stance and combatives (i.e. punching and kicking!). Soft and hard techniques to avoid and survive common attacks (i.e. wrist releases, defenses against chokes and headlocks, etc.). Topics of discussion to include principles of self-defense, avoidance and awareness tactics, “The Gift of Fear,” and further various scenarios.
Who am I? I began training in Krav Maga back in 2008 after making a major lifestyle change both professionally and personally. After 8+ years of smoking and an unhealthy routine I replaced one addiction for another. I became addicted to feeling good, to breathing clearly, to becoming more confident, and most importantly to helping others feel the same. I started training in both Krav Maga and CrossFit around the same time and actively pursued ways to push my body to its limits. With a healthy combination of these disciplines I found that beyond anything physical, my mental and emotional growth was at its peak. My confidence soared and my body felt younger and more alive than ever before. But most of all in a world where it is apparent that bad things do occur, I wanted to know that I could protect myself and my loved ones. We are all capable of doing amazing things in this world, and when the world decides to be not so amazing, we fight to survive the unimaginable. My goal with this seminar is threefold: To inform, to empower, and to have fun. My hope is that this is the starting point of your journey to a safer and more empowered life.
