Abel Silvas is a California Indian Storyteller. His stories reveal what life was like for his ancestors throughout the history of California from pre-contact to the Spanish Mission period, Mexican Rancho period, and Reservation period.
Students will learn how the indigenous California people adapted to changes and continue to be a vital part of today’s society. An actor, historian, comedian, storyteller, and mime, Silvas was a student at the Marcel Marceau School of Mime and was a former SUAVE art coach in the Center’s Education Department. Recommended for grades 3-5.
