Intercultural Music Conference
UCSD’s Intercultural Music (IcM) Conference presents three free concerts and eight discussion panels, at the Loft (second floor Price Center) and Conrad Prebys Music Center, featuring intercultural music of and across the Americas, East and West Asia, and Europe. Through music and discussions, participants will consider the problems and prospects of intercultural music.
IcM features over 50 musicians and scholars from more than 15 countries, including music composed by North, Central, and South Americans, Chinese and Hong Kongers, Azerbaijanis, and more. There will be a piece showcasing a musical dialogue between jazz and Persian music, as well as keynote speeches on Andalusian music and Algorithm of Musical Time.
The February 26 event features Locating the Allegory: Intercultural Perspectives, with performers Kneebody and Daedelus.
