The 40-member New City Sinfonia, led by Daniel Ratelle, will be joined by pianist Tina Chong in Beethoven’s vibrant Piano Concerto No.1. Also on this program will be J.S. Bach’s beautiful Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, with soloists Thomas Duncan and Kenneth Jerahian, and the energetic Symphony in D, by Spanish Basque composer Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga. Called “the Spanish Mozart,” Arriaga was a prodigy destined for a luminous career, but died just shy of his 20th birthday.
