Habitat Restoration
Join us along with the San Diego Ocean's Foundation for a hands-on, educational beach restoration event at Emory Cove.
We will be removing invasive plant species such as mustard seed and ice plants and planting more native plant species to help with future growth and soil enrichment in the area. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn how to identify native versus invasive plant species. More importantly, it’s the perfect reason to get outdoors and do some gardening that will benefit the local plant ecology and restore natural beauty to our beach landscapes!
Tools, water, and trash bags for plant debris and litter will be provided. Volunteers should wear clothing suitable for outdoor work, bring sunscreen, a hat, and your favorite pair of gardening gloves.
