704 Pier View Way, Oceanside, 92054
Cost: Free - $10
In honoring Women’s History Month, Dr. Marianne Richert Pfau, Professor of Music History at the University of San Diego and Director of the Angelus Early Music Series, will speak on 12th-century St. Hildegard of Bingen, German writer, composer, philosopher, mystic, visionary, and polymath.
Her talk will consider the music from her “The Songs of the Living Light.” We will look at the original notation from the medieval manuscripts that preserve Hildegard’s music, discover some of the artistic images, and hear recordings of her chants.
