Carlsbad Music Festival Village Walk
Carlsbad Music Festival kicks of the summer with its third annual Village Walk, featuring dozens of musicians performing over 50 sets during a 6 hour celebration of adventurous music. An extension of the August Carlsbad Music Festival, the Village Walk is an admission-free, community event featuring music performed in outdoor and indoor spaces throughout the historic Village of Carlsbad. The wide variety of performance venues range from public parks and art galleries, to local music stores and even a 19th century chapel.
Performers will include Alexander Elliott Miller & John Barcellona (Native American flute and electric guitar), BoorBaar (hazardous percussion trio), Chaos Magic (jazz meets metal piano trio), Daniel Corral (minimalist electronic music), Erin Martysz (solo percussion), Euphoria Brass Band (New Orleans brass band with a twist), Jennifer Bewerse (solo contemporary cello), the Gift Machine (indie pop psych-rock quartet), Kourosh Taghavi Trio (traditional Persian music), Kyle Motl (solo improvised upright bass), L.A. Edwards (singer/songwriter), Lovebirds (folk-pop duo), MandoBasso (mandolin and bass duo), Matt McBane (original compositions for solo violin by Fest Founder and Artistic Director), Murray Hidary (original compositions for solo piano), Nathan Hubbard Quartet (jazz meets chamber music), Opus Orange (indie-pop), Paper Days (dreamy wave washed indie pop), Red Fox Tails (surf meets jazz), Red Hill Quintet (Los Angeles-based jazz quartet), Scott Nielsen (electronic sound synthesis and electro-acoustic instruments), Scott Paulson and the Teeny-Tiny Pit Orchestra (madcap live scores to silent films), Sharp/Schwartz/Hubbard (improvising trio), Steve Marshall (singer/songwriter), Toy Shop Ghost (surrealist banjo-based Americana), Trouble in the Wind (cinematic folk rock), and Taken by Canadians (rabble-rousing folk rock).
