1pm: “Ratepayers Pay for San Onofre?” with Rochelle Becker, Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility. While power generation has ended, arguments over costs and who will pay those costs continue. Nuclear waste remains on site and is the subject of both state and federal regulatory proceedings that will last for years. Rochelle Becker will provide some answers.
2:30pm: “The Story of One WW11 Army Nurse” with Linda Dudik, Palomar College, retired professor. As a member of the Army Nurse Corps, Lillian Krell Swerdlow landed in Great Britain on June 6, 1944. For more than a year she cared for casualties from D-Day through the drive into Germany.
