Shades of Oak Tasting
1735 Hancock Street, San Diego, 92101
Cost: $45
According to Markus Molitor of the Mosel Valley, “There is no great wine that has not been made in oak.”
This class is devoted to an exploration of oak and its alternatives and their impact on the wine in the glass. We will be tasting to identify the impact of oak and how to correctly distinguish it in the glass. Varying toast levels, oak types, length of time in oak, and its alternatives all impact the flavor profile, texture, quality, and style of a wine.
