Art Studio and Garden Tour
Every spring on the last weekend of April, Escondido artist Cathy Carey produces this event as a benefit for the San Diego Humane Society and Project Wildlife.
For a suggested $10 donation, which goes directly to the fine folks greeting you at the door from SDHS, you are treated to a tour of Cathy Carey’s studio and garden. Sample refreshments and beverages while you explore the colorful paintings and gardens. As part of her continued support of the San Diego Humane Society, Cathy will match $5 for every donation.
On display will be Carey’s current series of native animals such as owls, quail, coyotes and fox, many of which she has seen on her one acre property on a high hill overlooking Lake Hodges. During the self-guided tour, enjoy the drought-tolerant succulent garden with many imaginative groupings of plants, wine bottles, and sculptures by other local artists. Her glass house studio is the center of the garden space and makes a delightful place for a shady interlude.
