The Sunday Sunday Sunday Races in Bonita Cove in west Mission Bay is a one-day event featuring stand-up and prone paddleboard races. There will be several divisions, including Kids, Juniors, Women, and Men. Races are from a half mile to ten miles in length. All races start and finish in Bonita Cove. There will be a kids’ half-mile “Fun Run” taking place completely inside the cove. There will also be an outdoor retailer area with demos and exhibits from the stand-up paddling industry, live music, and food vendors.
If you are considering getting into stand-up paddle boarding and haven’t tried it yet, this would be a good event to attend as there will be several sizes and styles of boards to demo and plenty of good advice.
Concurrent with the event will be the Healthy Souls Pacific Beach Fest qualifier volleyball tournament. One team per division wins entry to the pro volleyball tournament taking place at Pacific Beach Fest on October 4th.
Bonita Cove features a crescent-shaped beach for the starting and staging areas, viewing areas for spectators, a beach area for the vendor tents and volleyball courts, onsite restrooms, and plenty of parking. Races begin at 9 a.m. with the ten-mile prone and SUP divisions. Registration and check-in for participants will be at 8 a.m. You can sign up online at: sundaysundaysundayraces.com. When? Sunday Sunday Sunday, September 28. Admission to the venue is free.
