Faculty Exhibition Fall 2014
Our faculty exhibition features artwork in a variety of media created by our studio arts faculty. This exhibit offers glimpses onto the work produced by our instructors covering a myriad of topics.
Our professors don’t shy away from controversial topics: Christopher Ferreria’s alluring photographic mandalas of leather jackets are a meditation on social taboos and the dark sensuality of seduction. Sandra Wascher collages organic materials to weigh on the perceived benefits and harmful effects of hemp. Barbara Sexton’s intriguing sexually charged images center on ideas of power and control, speaking to gender expressions and the coded communications that help define us. Lisa Hutton’s delicate drawings reflect the manipulative language of real estate advertising and contrast it with images from the natural world that our urban spaces constantly encroach upon.
