Canyoneer Nature Walk: Greenbelt (Shepherd) Canyon

Take a stroll through the canyon toward a small reservoir that attracts birds and other animals. This is part of a greenbelt area that sustains native vegetation in the area formerly known as Camp Elliott.
From I-15, exit east on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, then turn left (north) on Santo Road for 0.25 miles to the greenbelt and park on Antigua Boulevard, west of Santo Road. No facilities. Allow 20 minutes driving time. (Map 1229-H7; GPS N32.833780, W117.101357)
