Architectural Walking Tour of Balboa Park
1649 El Prado, Suite 3, San Diego, 92101
Cost: $12 - $15
Architects Bertram Goodhue in 1915 and Richard Requa in 1935 created new structures here that emulated historic structures in Spain, Portugal, North Africa, and Mexico.
Join San Diego History Center program manager Gabe Selak on an hour-long, easy-paced walking tour along the Park’s main street and Pan-American Plaza looking at building facades, structural elements, and unique interior spaces with hidden stories to reveal.
The tour is followed by a visit to the History Center’s library to see historic architectural drawings and landscape plans made for the Park’s exposition.
