The Revolt Summer Surf Series 8.0, to be held in Pacific Beach October 4, is the last of four surf competitions that took place at Ocean Beach Pier and Crystal Pier over the summer. The final Revolt in Style magazine and Hoven–sponsored competition will include eight divisions: Men’s Pro-Am, Women’s Pro-Am, Juniors (14–17), Jr. Women’s (14–17) Open Longboard, Men’s SUP, Women’s SUP & Juniors SUP (14–17)
The first event of the series took place at O.B. Pier on June 21, then July 19 at P.B., again in O.B. on August 23 and now the final on October 4. The final event coincides with the Pacific Beach Fest, so there will be live music, food, and vendors along with the competitors deciding this year’s champions. The events are open to the public.
These events are non-rated competitions. Even so, the athletes take them all seriously. For the daily winners, a $2500 first-place prize is on the line as well as handmade trophies, surf swag from the sponsors, and bragging rights for the overall season champions. Though Vince Boulanger is the Pro Am points leader going into the final, there are several surfers with a chance to overtake him in the finals.
Other than the competition and the PB Fest, there will be a “green” beach fair, surfboard demos, live DJs, celebrity appearances, raffles, giveaways, and  beach games.
