Dr. Malcom Warner of the Laguna Art Museum will lecture on how, during the age of Queen Victoria, Britain was the most advanced and powerful nation on earth. Artists responded in a variety of ways to the huge technological and social changes brought about by the Industrial Revolution. Some tried to keep pace with modernity, making art that was relevant to the times. Others offered an escape into a dreamlike world of beauty and imagination. Includes a docent-led tour. 619-232-7931.
