Camarada, artists-in-residence of the Mingei, will inaugurate the Mingle at the Mingei Series with Parloir Musique and featured Artist: Niki de Saint Phalle, with concert host Rob Sidner, Director of the Mingei Museum.
The program will feature music for winds and piano, including the velvety Widor Suite for flute and piano and the rarely performed Saint-Saens Romance for horn and piano. The pillars of this French feast of chamber music are two majestic sextets, Vincent d'Indy's Sarabande and Minuet, and the silken Poulenc Sextet.
Performers will include Beth Ross Buckley, flute, Sarah Skuster, oboe, Sheryl Renk, clarinet, Ryan Simmons, bassoon, Darby Hinshaw, horn, and Dana Burnett, piano.
Mingei Director Rob Sidner will introduce the concert and provide interesting highlights about the art of Niki de Saint Phalle beginning at 6:00pm in the Rotunda of the museum. The performance will last slightly under two hours with time for mingling at intermission.
