Hillcrest Wind Ensemble, Amadeus Ensemblet
The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble welcomes special quests, the Amadeus Ensemblet of Copenhagen Denmark, as the two ensembles share the stage for an evening of classical wind music. The concert will open with two pieces from the Hillcrest Wind Ensemble, then the 16 piece Amadeus Ensemblet will play the bulk of the concert including Mozart's Serenade No. 10, Gran Partita.
Being one of the most important classical wind pieces, the Danish group respectfully borrowed the composer's name. The two groups will combine for the final portion of the concert. The Ensemblet was founded in 1993 and is led by Klaus Tönshoff. With an extensive music background, Mr. Tönshoff is also an accomplished clarinetist, playing in some of the finest orchestras in Denmark. The group will finish their tour of Southern California here in San Diego.
Tickets are available at the Windsmith (3875 Granada Ave.) or at the door.
